Day For Night

A cinematography technique in which a scene is photographed during the day, but made to look like it was shot at night. By using this technique, the filmmaker saves the cost of paying overhead for the staff working at night. These images were all taken during the day in the sunlight. The technique was popularized by Francois Truffaut in his film Day For Night.
